As the build-up to the FIFA World Cup 2026 reaches fever pitch, Macdonald Henderson is proud to continue our support of community/grassroots football, across the City of Glasgow.
On the Southside, MH sponsored Giffnock Soccer Centre’s Football Festival 2026 attended by over one hundred local football teams of all ages and development stages. GSC is Scotland’s largest grassroots community football club, and (at the club’s Auldhouse facilities) provides first class playing facilities for 1,500 playing members.
And over in the City’s East End, MH have sponsored Sacred Heart Primary School’s new strips for the coming season (proudly worn by the team for the first time this week, as Sacred Heart took part in the Janitor’s Cup, a six-school league competition drawing teams solely from the East End.
As commented by GSC committee member Mr Fergus Reid, “community football is the beating heart of the game”.
We wish Giffnock SC and Sacred Heart Primary all the best for the future, and we are already looking forward to next season – communities coming together to play the Beautiful Game.
