Emily is a Senior Solicitor in the Corporate Team, advising business owners, management teams and investors on acquisitions, disposals, investments, management buyouts and complex corporate restructurings.
Her experience spans high-value transactions involving private equity investment, changes in ownership and reorganisations of corporate and group structures, as well as share buybacks, EMI option schemes and corporate governance matters.
Having trained with Macdonald Henderson and qualified in 2023, Emily has developed particular experience in complex restructurings, working closely with clients and their professional advisers to navigate legal and commercial issues and achieve their strategic objectives. She also advises on cross-border transactions, including Scots law aspects of international deals.
Recognised as a Leading Associate in the Legal 500 2026 rankings, she brings a calm, solutions-focused approach to her work and is known for her attention to detail, commercial understanding and ability to communicate complex issues clearly.
Emily has built a strong reputation for her commercial and pragmatic approach and was named among The Business‘s Top 20 Rising Legal Stars 2026.
Outside of law, she is a keen, year-round wild swimmer and works closely with local and national charities.

- Acting for the shareholders of an award-winning provider of residential care in Scotland in connection with a complex group restructuring, an eight-figure investment by a leading UK/European impact fund and subsequent strategic funding and acquisition transactions;
- Advising a UK wrapping and packaging company on a complex 17-stage restructuring involving over 400 legal documents, multiple corporate entities, family succession planning, governance and property restructuring, shareholder realignment and multiple HMRC clearances;
- Advising Turnkey IPS, a leading provider of software solutions to the insolvency industry, on an investment by Bowmark Capital, the mid-market private equity firm, alongside the founding family;
- Advising on the eight-figure sale of a Scottish online fashion eyewear retailer to a UK buyer; and
- Advising on the acquisition of the entire issued share capital of a leading UK supplier of security fastenings and hardware.
