John McKeown
Senior Solicitor, Dispute Resolution
John is a Senior Solicitor in the Dispute Resolution Team.
John joined the firm in February 2026, having previously worked within the Dispute Resolution team of a Glasgow-based litigation practice, where he began his legal career as a paralegal before qualifying as a solicitor.
John has significant litigation experience and regularly represents clients in Sheriff Courts across Scotland. His practice covers a broad range of disputes, including commercial and consumer claims, property disputes and insolvency matters. He has extensive experience advising both landlords and tenants in respect of residential tenancy’s, representing both in the Housing and Property Chamber of the First-Tier Tribunal for Scotland. Additionally, John routinely acts in the instruction of counsel for matters calling before the Court of Session.
While always prepared to pursue litigation, John adopts a practical and commercially minded approach to dispute resolution. He works closely with clients to understand their objectives and achieve outcomes in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.
