We are delighted to advise that Macdonald Henderson’s Corporate Solicitor Emily Glen-Hencher has been shortlisted as a Corporate Rising Star of the Legal 500 Scotland Awards 2024.

Emily qualified as a solicitor in our Corporate team in July 2023, after completing her traineeship with the firm.

In that time Emily has been involved in a stellar list of corporate and commercial matters including acquisitions, disposals, management buyouts and other internal restructures, option schemes and general corporate governance matters.

Highlights of Emily’s work include pivotal roles in transactions such as:

  • the investment in Turnkey IPS by Bowmark;
  • the sale of WEEE Solutions to ENVA plc; and
  • the investment in The Electric Heating Company by Foresight.

Emily has amassed a wealth of knowledge, and a proven attention to detail. She has been involved in a number of cross-border transactions undertaking due diligence and providing advice and assistance from a Scots law perspective, supporting fellow advisors including PWC and Freshfields.

As well as her corporate work, Emily has proven herself to be a valued and supportive colleague, often reaching out to mentor junior members of the MH team, and to take on extra responsibilities within the firm. Emily has represented our firm at a number of key events, including the 2023 International Commercial Law Alliance conference in Poland last year.

Outside of the law, Emily works closely with local and national charities, and currently sits on the Board of Directors of Women’s Aid South Lanarkshire and East Renfrewshire.

We wish Emily all the best at the Awards night at the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa in Edinburgh on Thursday 28th November 2024, whilst acknowledging the terrific achievement in receiving this nomination in itself.
